Suckling Pig "Babi Guling", Babi Guling or suckling pig, is one of Bali's most famed dishes. The pig is stuffed and infused with a spicy concoction involving turmeric, coriander seeds, lemongrass, black pepper and garlic, and spit-roasted. Vegetarian alternatives are available.
09.00am Light Snacks and Market Tour
Traditional Market Tour, we will visit one of the most colorful markets in Denpasar where we will try Indonesian cakes "Jajanan Pasar". The Badung Market is the largest market in Bali and acts as a clearing house for many island goods. Fruit and vegetable producers from around Bali bring their goods here, the original market was opened in 1984 and is currently situated at Jalan Cokroaminoto following a large fire in 2015.
09.30am Food tasting
Indonesian rice cake and tofu "Tipat Tahu". Mix of Tipat or Ketupat (boiled rice wrapped in coconut leaves) and tahu (tofu soya milk cheese) served with sweet spicy peanut sauce and bean sprouts.
10.00am Exploring Denpasar City
Walk along the heritage area of the city and continue into the neighborhood with all the fabric and textile vendors. Here you will meet one of the owners who is originally from Yemen but has made Bali his home for many years. After we will continue and see the local fruit sellers delivering avocados, apples, mangoes, oranges before these are distributed for the local markets.
11.30am Coffee time
Legendary Balinese Coffee, alternatives are available for example Hot Chocolate or a selection of Tea at the oldest coffee shop in Denpasar. A silent witness of this heritage area. Established in 1935 it has been managed by three generations of Tjahjadi family, this coffee shop is a pioneer of the commercialization of Bali coffee which now has recognition among coffee lovers worldwide.
12.00pm Main course
Continue your drive for your main course. Balinese Nasi Campur at one of the most famous warungs in Denpasar.
A little post meal walk will bring you to the famous Beef or Pork Satay following this visit you will observe the creation of Balinese dessert "Jaje Laklak" Laklak is a traditional Balinese cake made out of rice flour. This sweet cake is round and flat and the traditional cakes comes in two colors, white and light green. The light green color is created through the use of the Pandan leaves are added to the dough, the Pandan leaf also gives the delicious aroma to the cake.
If you don't eat sweets we do offer an alternative: Making sweet Balinese fruit salad "Rujak Bali" Rujak is a traditional fruit salad dish commonly found in Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore. Other than referring to this fruit salad dish, the term rujak also means "mixture" or "eclectic mix" in colloquial Malay. Available everywhere across Indonesia there are vast variations across the country. However, the most popular rujak variant is rujak buah “fruit rujak”, which is mixed sliced fruit and vegetables served with spicy palm sugar dressing. Unlike common fruit salads, rujak is described as tangy and spicy fruit salad, this is due to its sweet, spicy dressing made from ground chili pepper, palm sugar and peanuts.

- As this tour involves a lot of walking and a visit to the traditional market. We would recommend wearing a comfy closed shoes and make sure you love to walk!

- Please come hungry as there are large varieties of foods to try!
