Bali Downhill - 2 Days

This trip is one for the pure thrill seekers among us. We will be on the bikes for 2 days and cram in as much downhill riding as we can.

We will ride 3 different tracks that all start at the central volcanoes and descent towards the coast. We think the best description for this ride is an enduro style ride and there is still a good amount of pedaling to do and even a few climbs. There are no drops in this ride but we do recommend to wear extra knee protection for this ride. Our 5,5 or 6 inch travel bikes are a perfect fit for this ride.

Oh yeah, at the end of Day 01 we stay at a hotel located right on the beach :)

ITINERARY
DAY 01 | Central Volcanoes to the North of Bali | 25km

The first section of Day 01 is an amazing 12km downhill run that starts at the foot of Mount Abang. First we need to climb a bit to where our downhill run starts. The first bit is on jeep track and double track and we then continue of fast and flowy single track. This is the perfect warm up track for the day. After the first run we transfer back up to the outer rim of Mount Batur to the village of Penulisan where our second run will start. We have kept the best for the last! The second run is an amazing - but technical - 15km downhill single track ride all the way from 2000m altitude towards the ocean. We spend the night at the North Coast of Bali in our hotel located right on the beach. (L)

DAY 02 | Penulisan to Tianyar | 32km
For those of you that like to wake up early you can head out for an amazing snorkeling trip right in front of the hotel. At 07.30am we will transfer back up to the central volcanoes again. Today we will ride from Penulisan to Tianyar. The riding is more enduro style today first rolling hills with a few good climbs on the outer rim of the volcano before another amazing 15km descent back to the North coast. We end up again at the North Coast around 2 pm where we have lunch and transfer back to the South of Bali where our adventure ends.

INCLUSIONS
mountain bike guide, 150mm full suspension bikes, helmet, gloves, all transfers with aircon car, 1 night accommodation (double bed or twin share basis), 1 breakfast and 2 lunches.

DIFFICULTY

Advanced 5/5

Advanced: Tours are suitable for experienced mountain bikers only with great fitness and strong bike handling skills. Riding is primarily on rough doubletrack and single track. Sections of trail can be very challenging with frequent ascents and descents of significant length. Trail conditions can change rapidly due to weather conditions and natural elemets such as vegetation.

Please make sure you are not choosing a tour that is too difficult for your skill level. This is your vacation, not army camp! Expect to ride about 4-5 hours per day, covering an average of 45km. Send us an email or call our office if you have questions.

CYCLING CONDITIONS

Day 01: 25km
Day 02: 32km
We will ride mostly downhill for 2 days, there are no big drops but the riding downhill can be quite technical with sections with loose rocks and narrow single track. We recommend wearing knee protection for this ride. For those who want we have a few full face helmets available in size M or L.

PICK UP AND DROP OFF
Day 01: Seminyak, Sanur, Canggu, Legian and Kuta areas: 07.00am, Ubud 08am. Expect to be back on Day 02 at your accommodation around 6pm (but this is variable by group).
