Day 1 | Tarakan | Arrival Day
We will pick you up at the airport with your name on the sign. Afterwards, you have a chance to take a rest at the hotel, located within 30-minutes-drive in the city centre. At 3.30 PM, we head out to local mangrove forest to explore and see various types of mangrove species, birds, and proboscis or long-nosed monkeys. Then, we will have dinner in the evening. (D)

Several direct flights to Tarakan are available, either from Jakarta or Surabaya, where our team leader will also be flying in to join our local guide in Tarakan. Please contact us for more details regarding the flights.

Day 2 | Tarakan | Setulang Village | Dayak Kenyah Tribe
After breakfast in the hotel, we start our adventure in North Kalimantan by proceeding to the port. We will cross the Kayan River to Malinau by public speedboat (3 hours). Along the ride, if lucky, we might see some freshwater dolphins, proboscis monkeys, and birds emerging occasionally.

Upon arrival, we ride the car to Setulang Village, where we will stay overnight in local house and explore the unique culture of Dayak Kenyah, such as longhouse, granaries, also the long-ear-women if we are lucky. (B L D

Day 3 | Cruise the Setulang River | Trekking Kayan Mentarang National Park | Camping
Today, we start our trip towards the rainforest by cruising upward the Setulang River (1 hour), depending on the current. Then, we will be trekking to the big cifor tree (1 hour), crossing through the tropical rainforest in Kayan Mentarang National Park, while spotting for wild animals like monkeys, hornbills, blue streak kingfishers, etc. Next, we trek downhill to the riverside (2 hours) to camp overnight on bivouac / tent. Day 4 | Trekking Kayan Mentarang National Park | Camping
After breakfast, we will be trekking deeper into the pristine jungle, in total about 6-7 hours. First, we trek to reach The Kaze Bezu, literally means huge wood, which is the 8th largest tree in the world with approximate diameter of 10 metres. Along the trek, we will encounter some wild fauna and flora in the Kayan Mentarang National Park, before trekking down to the river to set up the campsite for dinner and overnight stay. (B L D)

Day 5 | Trekking Kayan Mentarang National Park | Camping
After breakfast at the campsite, we will be trekking to Hulu Karang to explore the wild flora and fauna on the other side of National Park. Today's trek is mostly following the river stream up to Hulu Karang for about 6-7 hours, then we set up our campsite at the riverside of Hulu Karang for dinner and overnight stay. (B L D)

Day 6 | Transfer back to Tarakan
After breakfast, we hike back to our boat (2 hours) to cruise down the Setulang River (1,5 hours). Upon arrival, we proceed to catch our car and drive to port, where we will ride the public speed boat back to Tarakan approximate arrival time is late afternoon. In the evening, we head out for dinner to try some local delicacies. (B L D)

Day 7 | Transfer to Surabaya | Free afternoon
Today, we fly to Surabaya with morning flight (2 hours), then check-in to 5-star colonial style heritage hotel in town around noon. The afternoon is at leisure. (B)

Day 8 | East Java | Ride around the crater of Mount Bromo | 25km
After breakfast and upon check-out, we transfer you by car to Cemoro Lawang village (3 hours) in flank of Mount Bromo National Park, where our accommodation is located at 2200m above sea level. Since it can get really cold at night, it is recommended for you to bring some warm clothes.

After lunch, we ride down the bike into the sea of sand (3 hours) and around the crater of Mount Bromo. There is quite a bit uphill to deal with, but we will take it easy due to the altitude. After the ride, we hike up the 200 steps to the top of the Mount Bromo's crater. (B L D)

Day 9 | East Java | Sunrise over Mount Bromo | Bike to Welang | 40km
Today, we start early at 3 AM heading out by our 4x4 car to catch the sunrise in Penanjakan Point, the best spot to witness this incredible beauty over the Mount Bromo National Park. Afterwards, we get on our bikes again with 153m elevation gain and 2500m elevation loss, which pretty much sums up the day. Be aware of a few technical sections on the downhill, and a few sections where we might have to carry on our bikes. This ride will end at a local bike park where they build an amazing 10km trail throughout the local forest.

After lunch, we can play in this bike park again for the second time, before we transfer you to Batu, a famous town for its amazing mountain scenery. After heading out for dinner for some amazing local food in Batu, we will stay in this town for 2 nights. (B L D)

Day 10 | East Java | Mountain Bike Batu Malang | 32km
After breakfast, we transfer you all the way up in flack of the local volcanoes, where we can see the spectacular view of the active volcano of Mount Arjuno. Today's ride will start from the spring of Brantas River, then go through the local forest, apple plantations, and various vegetable farms. Upon finish in Batu, we will load up the bike, then transfer you to start the second ride from Panderman Hill to the Japanese Cave built during WW2. After the second ride end, we go back to the accommodation in Batu, and head out for final dinner in the evening (B L D)

Day 11 | Departure Day
Today, no activities planned on this departure day, and check-out time is by noon. The included transfer to airport of Malang (1 hour) or Surabaya (2.5 hours) finally marks this tour to an end.
